
Fatiguefit is an Industry leading education service supported with Artificial Intelligence. The educational and compliance product is used to the reduce risk of death and injury caused by employee fatigue and to guide healthcare, mining, and logistics organisations to become compliant in regulatory workplace safety. The Fatiguefit brand is part of Sleepfit Solutions; which has now grown to become a leading Australian health-tech provider.
I was hired to lead the experience and strategic direction of the product, its chatbot design, engagement methods, portal structure, sales experience, and to form a brand identity capable of resonating with some of the world's largest organisations.

Market positioning
The vision for Fatiguefit was well beyond competitor capabilities, and as such, its identity needed to distinctly represent this.
For the product to succeed the brand needed an authoritative presence that had to be retained even if customers white-labeled the product. To better understand the spectrum of use cases research was conducted with prospective customers, partners, and regulators. This research formed the foundations of the brand and engagment strategy.

DEFINE

Brand creation and copywriting direction
An ‘approachable expert’ archetype was selected for the brand. Personas were used to ground the design process in the proceeding brand strategy, and after several design iterations, a logo and colour palette were finalised.
Leading a team with a copywriter and in-house designer I crafted typography, built out style scapes, established a voice and tone, and formalised a brand style guide to inform future design work. Finally, a brand pack was made with assets for the team to use in pre-sales meetings.

DESIGN

Customer Journey, chatbot user flows, and Information architecture
Partnering with the CTO I reimagined the structure and flow of the chatbot’s initial architecture.
After defining the customer journey, it became clear that a pivot was required to reduce the amount of friction a user would experience in this complex service offering. Furthermore, a modern style of interaction design was implemented to have the service seamlessly function between mobile, desktop, and tablet on the web and across multiple platform integrations.

REFINE

User testing and product demonstrations
I led the transition from user flows to wireframes and then to functioning prototypes. All design stages were refined with feedback from user testing. The resulting prototypes consisted of hundreds of interfaces to simulate an AI chatbot capable of guiding and educating users.
The prototypes were used as product specs for developers, in product demonstrations, sales pitches, and prospective partnership meetings.

DELIVER

Education portal and application UI design management
With the brand identity and chatbot experience finalised I led the team in applying consistent patterns to the educational portals, sales funnel, and members portal (housing paid content and compliance tools).
A final heuristic review was undertaken to iron out development bugs and prioritise fixes for launch.

Result

This product saves thousands of people from fatigue workplace accidents and death, and has become critical to scaling Sleepfit business.
Employees who are currently failing to recognise, report on, and manage fatigue in their workplace now have an intelligent and highly trained expert at their disposal with training modules and touch points to industry expert guidance. This service significantly reduces the risk of workplace accidents and dramatically increases the affordability for business owners, regulators, and managers to implement expert-led workplace safety procedures.
